10th Annual Permaculture Design Workshop for Women

Permaculture is a whole systems method of design that offers guidelines for ways we can create more productive and sustainable environments by conserving resources in all aspects of living. This is achieved through thoughtful integration between the land, water, plants, people, animals, shelter, technologies and community. The purpose of this workshop is to create a comfortable, supportive environment for women to learn Permaculture philosophy, principles, strategies, and sample techniques. Hands-on sessions included. Topics included: * Observation skills and site analysis * Animal husbandry * Natural cycles and pattern recognition * Appropriate technology and housing * Water harvesting * Economics * Soil building, Gardening * Urban Strategies * Edible landscaping * Community networking * And MoreŠ.. Instructor: Jude Hobbs is a horticulturist, permaculture designer, and instructor. Since 1982, Jude's landscape design business has provided environmental design solutions for urban and rural settings. She has written Multi-Functional Hedgerows and Permaculture in a variety of publications. Jude tends a forest garden in Eugene, Oregon. Fee: $165-$200 (sliding scale). This includes instruction, workshop materials, and three organic vegetarian meals. Early registration by 7/17: 10% discount. Final registration by 7/31. Additional contributions gratefully accepted for scholarships Location: An urban residence in Eugene. Lodging available for out-of-town participants at minimal cost.
